Supporting a business to migrate from manual to Xero Accounting

Our client, Atelier Nine, a family-run specialist fashion and textile conservation business came to Vertis in search of bookkeeping and accountancy support. Existing systems were largely manual and relied on spreadsheets for analysis. As the business grew it became increasingly difficult to sustain this record keeping format.

The business owner wanted an accountancy practice that was capable of teaching her mother, Marrion, now long retired, how to implement a digital accounts package – her previous experience having been confined to largely manual systems. Therefore, the requirement was for bespoke training and ongoing support.

We taught Marrion how to use Xero from scratch. After her initial apprehension about a digital system, she came to appreciate the simplicity of Xero, and has embraced the benefits it gives her daughter’s business, including the latest AI functionality. She has come to enjoy using the software, and it fits well with her desire to keep a constantly up to date set of books for the business.

We now provide ongoing bookkeeping support, as and when required, as well as a full accountancy service for the expanding Atelier Nine business.
